Monthly Volunteering Trends

January 2012

This month we had 138 prospective volunteers accessing our referral service. All of the 138 referrals were completed online. The following statistics give an insight into who is accessing our services and what positions they are interested in:

  • 71% were females and 29% males
  • 38% of males were int he 25 - 34 age bracket
  • 39% of females were in the 25 - 34 age bracket
  • The major focuses were in health and other categories

Lots of interest again for accounting roles and skilled IT roles. If you are seeking volunteers in this area get advertising

December 2011

This month we had 112 prospective volunteers accessing our referral service. The online referral service is proving to be very popular with 83% of total referrals using this option. The following statistics give an insight into who is accessing our service and what positions they are interested in:

  • 73% were females and 27% were male
  • 53% of males were in the 25 - 34 age bracket
  • 33% of females were in the 18 - 24 age bracket
  • The major focuses were in the health and 'other' categories with 36% interested in health and also 36% in 'other'

We again have had alot of interest this month from volunteers wanting to volunteer over the Christmas break and on Christmas day. We have also seen an increase in people interested in conservation through the online referral service.

November 2011

This month we had 92 prospective volunteers accessing our referral service. This is a 56% increase from last month. This is due to the development of going online with our referral service. Of the 92 referrals, 45 were completed online.

The following statistics give an insight into who is accessing our service and what positions they are interested in:

  • 68% were females and 32% were male
  • 33% of males were in the 25 - 34 age bracket
  • 33% of females were in the 18 - 24 age bracket
  • The major focuses were in the arts and 'other' categories with 33% interested in arts and 27% in 'other'

We have had alot of interest this month from volunteers wanting to volunteer over the Christmas break and on Christmas day. So if you need a hand over the festive season please let us know.

October 2011

In the month of October 2011 we had 51 prospective volunteers accessing our referral service which is slightly down from last month due to school holidays.

Interestingly, the following statistics give an insight into who is accessing our service and what positions they are interested in:

  • 70% were females and 30% males
  • 40% of males were in the 45 – 52 year age bracket
  • 30% of females were in the 18 – 24 year age bracket
  • The major focuses this month were in the arts and youth areas with 33% of people interested in each of these area’s

September 2011

In the month of September 2011 we had 60 prospective volunteers accessing our referral service. The majority of these people were in the 18 – 24 and 24 – 34 age brackets. The focus was on the following categories:

  • 75% in health
  • 22% in seniors
  • 20% in arts and heritage

We also noticed a lot of people who were specifically interested in accounting, however we do not have a lot of accounting positions on the data base to refer to. So if you need an expert bookkeeper, make sure you submit a job request form with us to ensure your positions are advertised.
