Schools

Staff from government and independent ACT high schools are welcome to refer students who they think would benefit from participating in the SPICE Program. The program is particularly beneficial for students who:

• have become disconnected from their education due to a physical or mental condition;
• may present with behavioural difficulties in the school environment;
• have a frequent truancy problem; 
• don’t see the relevance of school and education in a workplace setting;
• need to build self-esteem/self-confidence; 
• need to improve social skills; or
• are just “a round peg in a square hole”.

SPICE is an “early intervention” program and is not designed as a last resort for students who have totally disengaged.

Referrals will only be accepted from educational staff.
