ACT Volunteer Grants Program 2008/09

Applications have now closed.

The ACT Volunteer Grants Program 2008/09 recognises the valuable work of volunteers and is part of the ACT Government's ongoing commitment to support volunteers and encourage volunteering in local communities.

How much is the grant and what can it be used for?

Organisations can apply for funding of $100 per volunteer—up to a maximum of $5000—to help their volunteers meet the rising costs associated with volunteering.

Funds may only be used to contribute towards reimbursements to volunteers for:

  • fuel
  • transport (for example, bus tickets), and
  • parking costs.

These funds will assist volunteers in their important work, including those who use their cars to transport others to activities, deliver food and assist people in need. Volunteers can also be reimbursed for cost of transport to and from the place of volunteering.

Is my organisation eligible?

An organisation applying for a grant under the ACT grants program 2008/09 must be:

  • an Australian, not for profit organisation
  • a legal entity based in the ACT
  • engaging volunteers whose work directly benefits residents of the ACT.

ACT based organisations that are not eligible to apply in their own right, may seek an eligible organisation to apply on their behalf.

How do I apply?
