Volunteer of the Year Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2012 ACT Volunteer of the Year Awards

Volunteering ACT is now calling for nominations for the 2012 ACT Volunteer of the Year Awards.

The Awards Ensure that the diverse and generous contribution of volunteers to the well being of our community is publicly recognised and valued. The awards acknowledge volunteer service across many activity categories includin arts, sport, the environment, community services and health.

This year each activity category will have an Award for individual volunteer acheivement and for the acheivement of teams of volunteers. Nominations are welcome from community, corporate and government agencies and individuals.

Please find the guidelines for nominations below, as well as nominations forms for individuals volunteers and teams of volunteers (please ensure you choose the right form).

2012 ACT Volunteer of the Year Awards Ceremony

The event details for the awards ceremony for the 2012 ACT Volunteer of the Year Awards are as follows:

Date: Tuesday 15 May 2012

Time: 10am for a 10.30am start (concluding at 12pm)

Place: The Abbey Function Centre, Federation Square, O'hanlon Place, Nicholls

2011 Volunteer of the Year – Jeanie Bruce

Jeanie was the winner of the Community Care and Social Support category in the ACT Volunteer of the Year Awards as well as winning the ACT Volunteer of the Year 2011. Jeanie is described by her colleagues as a truly inspirational volunteer. She offers her vital counselling service- which often involves saving lives- without expectation of any public applause or recognition at great personal sacrifice.
