Benefits of Corporate Volunteering

What is it?

Corporate Volunteering (also known as Employee Volunteering) is where businesses support their employees to take on volunteering work in the community. Employee Volunteering is a way for businesses to come together with community organisations to help the community prosper.

What are the benefits?

Employee Volunteering is often described as a ‘’win-win-win’’ because everyone benefits: the employees who volunteer, their employer and the community organisation they are helping.

Employee Volunteering is an effective form of exercising Corporate Social Responsibility. It offers businesses an alternative way to meet their Corporate Social Responsibility from donations or sponsorship.

Offering Employee Volunteering program gives your staff the opportunity to benefit through a sense of personal satisfaction, learning new skills, pathways to community involvement and opportunities to meet new people and explore new situations.

Other benefits include: increased staff satisfaction and retention, increased productivity, positive community profile and image, skill development and attitudinal change for employees.

How to get involved:

So how do you access Employee Volunteering opportunities?

  1. Contact Volunteering ACT and ask to speak to the Services Manager
  2. Choose the volunteering experience or experiences your staff are interested in provided by Volunteering ACT
  3. Advise the Services Manager of the experiences you are interested in, dates you are available and how many staff will be attending
  4. Volunteering ACT will arrange the day for you.

It’s that easy! If you are interested in finding out more information, contact the Services Manager at Volunteering ACT today on 6251 4060.
