Corporate Volunteering Survey Of Employees - Results

Companies are getting more and more involved in corporate social responsibility. Very little is known about corporate volunteering, so Volunteering Australia together with Volunteering ACT conducted research. Thanks is given to Orima Research for their help in the creation of the surveys, as well as Canberra Business Council for distributing it to their members.

The surveys were distributed to the total membership of the Canberra Business Council. A total of four (4) companies and twenty-four (24) employees within the ACT responded.

Whilst the return of questionnaires was disappointingly small, VACT believes that the data is a valuable indication of what is possible if the culture of Corporate Volunteering could be encouraged and supported in the ACT and its region.

Overall the information is a good start to what probably needs to be a trigger for future work to examine the corporate Volunteer culture in the ACT and its region.
