away from the spotlight, there are millions of generous individuals
who, around the clock and around the world, roll up their sleeves
and volunteer to help in any way they can. <more> |

OLDER
WOMEN'S NETWORK
Measuring
Social Capital: an action research project for older women
in Australia
|
A great deal of what makes our communities good places
to live in is done by people for each other at no cost. The
Older Women's Network (Australia) previous projects have shown
that older women who are skilled networkers and organisers
in their communities do much of this. But their contribution
is often not seen or acknowledged because our economy only
counts things which can be measured in money terms.
This project will develop ways to identify and value the
contribution of older women and use the information to give
older women more effective ways of doing things for themselves,
their communities and informing government policy that affects
them. <more> |
